HISTORY

CR Gems was first established in 2005, by our current owner, a first-generation gemstone merchant who began his journey straight out of university in his early 20s. With a passion for fine gemstones, he started with a pocketful of single stones, supplying other gem dealers and manufacturers with calibrated parcels. Sourcing stones first-hand—primarily in Thailand—what began with door-to-door sales quickly grew, leading to the opening of our first showroom in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. In 2018, we expanded to Hatton Garden, London, and in 2022, proudly established a presence in New York’s Diamond District.

Today, CR Gems holds one of the largest stocks of GIA-certified coloured stones with origin reports, along with a wide range of high-quality merchandise across all our showrooms. Our owner still hand-selects every stone and parcel himself, maintaining our reputation for excellent quality and competitive pricing. With no middlemen involved, we operate the way gemstone dealers should—where someone’s word or handshake still means something. We value and respect both our suppliers and customers alike, enabling us to offer great pricing, trust, and exceptional choice.
